FAQs
How do I book?
You can find the booking page HERE
What if I have body hair, acne, scars, tattoos, or fat? Can I still get a massage?
All bodies and states of being are welcome in my practice! I can accommodate all shapes, sizes, and textures. You should arrive relatively clean, but you do not need to shave or prepare your body in any particular way.
If your tattoo is less than two weeks old, I will avoid the area as it’s still healing. I may leave an area off-limits if you have any fresh scars, scabs, fungal infections, or rashes. Please double-check with your doctor if you’re unsure about any skin conditions. If you have a scar that is new but over three weeks old, I’m happy to work on the area in a therapeutic way to prevent scar tissue build-up.
What do I do about undressing?
You may undress as much or as little as you’d like. With your permission, I’ll use oil or cream on any exposed skin while keeping the rest of your body tucked and covered under a blanket. I’ll be able to do more gliding strokes on exposed skin. However, my work is adaptable and can be applied whether you are clothed, partially clothed, or fully undressed. Most people undress down to their underwear, but I encourage you to do what feels best for you!
Will the massage hurt?
That’s not my goal! While some areas of your body may feel more intense, you should never be gritting your teeth, unable to take a deep breath, or wishing for the session to end out of pain. If the pressure becomes painful at any point, please don’t hesitate to let me know, and I’ll adjust it for you. Different parts of the body can tolerate varying amounts of pressure, so open communication is key. I’m committed to listening to your body and working with it as it naturally softens during the session. My goal is to provide a balance of relaxation and therapeutic benefits, leaving you with a positive, lasting effect without overwhelming your nervous system with excessive pressure. Your comfort and well-being are my top priorities!
Nope! Besides check-ins about pressure and comfort, you are under no obligation to chat during the session. If you’re feeing chatty, however, that is also welcome.
Do I have to talk during the session?
After the session, you should feel relaxed, with your muscles noticeably loosened, and possibly in a state of "massage bliss" (feeling very zen and a little fuzzy). Take your time sitting up and getting off the table, and if you don’t have any water with you, I’d be happy to offer you some. Staying hydrated after a massage is important, as it acts like a passive workout for your muscles. Also, feel free to grab some chocolate from the treat bowl!
While one session won’t completely eliminate long-term muscle tension, regular sessions (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) can have cumulative benefits. By periodically checking in with your body and targeting areas of tension, we can work together to reverse deep-rooted patterns. I may also provide you with yoga-inspired stretches and other tips to help maintain your muscles between sessions.
What should I expect after the massage?
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! You can receive a 20% discount code for your next massage by filling out the feedback form emailed after sessions, leaving a Google review HERE, and/or if your name is put down as someone’s referral. You may only receive a discount once per action. Discounts cannot be combined.
I offer massage session packages, which result in a discounted price per massage. Additionally, you can commit to a monthly massage subscription, which results in an even steeper discounted price! All these offers can be found on my booking page HERE.
You can also receive 20% off your session if you book during your birth month! <3
