Policies
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session. Appointment adjustments can be made online through the Acruity portal link, which you can find in your confirmation emails. You will also receive an email reminder 36 hours before your scheduled appointment, including a link to adjust your appointment if needed. If you are having any trouble, please email me directly. Canceling within 24 hours will incur a fee of 50% of the total session rate unless there is a sudden illness or emergency. This fee-waiving exception is up to my discretion. Please give me as much notice as possible for cancelations or rescheduling so I may offer your time slot to someone else. Clients who reschedule, cancel, or no-show their appointments repeatedly may be unable to rebook with me.
Cancellation & No-Shows
Please arrive 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment to ensure your session can start on time. If you are a first-time client, it is valuable to arrive ahead of time so we have ample time to meet and discuss your needs. Arriving early allows time to find parking, go to the bathroom, and settle into your session with ease. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session time for the complete session cost. Please let me know via my work phone number or email if you will be late for your appointment.
Arrival
What to Expect
I am located near the intersection of 4th St and Morris St. I will email you the exact address after we confirm our appointment. For those with cat allergies, please note that two cats live in the building, although they are never allowed in the treatment room. Please read more about accessibility and comfort below! We will chat in person at the beginning of our session about what you filled out on your intake form. You can expect clear communication from me throughout our session. With your consent, I may work on anything from the glutes, inner thighs, feet, face, and scalp. Our pre-session intake is a great time to discuss which parts of your body you are and are not comfortable receiving work on, but you can always change your mind during the session; just let me know! If you have trauma that you feel may impact your session, please communicate what areas or actions may be triggering for you - no need to share why! In addition, some folks prefer a silent session, while others enjoy sharing what’s going on with their lives or have deeper bodywork-related questions. I’m here for it all and strive to give you your desired experience!
In the treatment room, we will check in about how you’re feeling that day and your long-term wellness goals and agree on the treatment structure together. I will orient you to the space, where to place your items, and how to interact with the massage table. I will leave you with privacy to undress to your comfort level and arrange yourself on the table. My treatments can be applied to a clothed, partially, or unclothed person. You will always be tucked under the sheet and blanket, with the area being worked on modestly uncovered. I will use oil on available skin if you choose to undress partially or fully. I will check in with you regarding pressure, temperature, and overall comfort, but please tell me if there is something I can do to make you even 5% more comfortable. Our sessions are a great time to practice establishing boundaries and expressing requests. I understand that needs can change from moment to moment, and I encourage you to share them with me. We will begin the session with deep breaths, and I may integrate breathwork throughout the session to aid in tension relief.
At the end of the session, I will leave you with privacy and time to collect yourself and your items. We will debrief on some home care tips and future massage plans and check out. After we part, I may email you any self-care information discussed during the session. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
I am willing to travel and bring the relief of massage to your home for an additional $20 transportation fee. This fee will apply once per travel day, so if your loved ones would also like bodywork at your home on the same day, the travel fee can be split between you. My travel range is approximately 10 miles from my private studio. Locations that are outside of my travel range may not be accepted. Hot rocks and cupping are available for this mobile session. Discounts are offered for those willing to supply their own massage table. Pre-payment is required for At-Your-Home sessions. Please reach out before scheduling if you have any questions or concerns.
At-Your-Home Sessions
Payment
For payments, I accept Cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Paypal, and I have a square reader for cards. Gratuity is included in the total cost and no additional payment is expected.
An intake form will be emailed to you when you book your session. Please complete this at least 24 hours before your session so I can review it before meeting. Please be thorough when filling out this form, as I need to know of any medications, injuries, surgeries, or conditions that may affect our session. Please let me know if any accessibility accommodations need to be addressed. All client records are kept in a secure location and private. Without your written consent, your records will not be released to third parties, including healthcare providers or insurance companies. Records may be surrendered if required by law. Any personal information shared in the studio is confidential. Still, please remember that I am a mandated reporter, and any information indicative of abuse or suspected abuse or self-harm will be reported as required by law.
Privacy
As mentioned, I will email you the exact address after confirming our appointment. My private studio is in the South Philadelphia neighborhood of Pennsport, closest to Bus #29 Stop at 4th St and Morris St or Bus #57 Stop at Moyamensing Ave & Morris St. One can typically find car parking within a few blocks. There are 2 flights of stairs up to the treatment room. Please let me know if this space is inaccessible for you so I can make accommodations. I am willing to make house calls for those in need, such as folks who use wheelchairs. This availability is up to my discretion.
I strive for maximum comfort and peace of mind for all people in my practice. If you are a person who uses mobility devices, is deaf or hard of hearing, is blind or partially sighted, needs a translator, or any other circumstances that require/desire specific accommodation, please let me know, and we will collaborate on a solution. Masking is optional upon request!
My two cats live in the building, and though they are friendly, they will not be in the treatment room during our session. They are never permitted in the treatment room, however I vacuum and mop the communal spaces frequently to keep overall pet dander to a minimum. Please let me know about pet allergies and fears or if you plan to bring your service animal.
I typically play a white-noise-type machine and light music during sessions. Please let me know if you have any sound-related requests.
The space is low-scent, though not scent-free. I may use aromatic herbs as part of the session. I also enjoy using my disco-ball diffuser, so please let me know if you have any scent requests. An air purifier is running in the studio to eliminate airborne allergens, but if you have any particular concerns, please let me know.
For oil, I use an unscented, organic blend of sunflower seed, safflower seed, olive fruit, jojoba seed, and natural vitamin E. I have other options available if needed.
Accessibility &
Comfort
I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of Pennsylvania; and I am a certified vinyasa yoga, prenatal/postpartum yoga, and yoga nidra teacher. I am also a trained birth doula in the process of earning official certification! I am licensed to provide a structured, therapeutic touch to address the body's soft tissues. I am not qualified to diagnose or treat specific medical or mental conditions and cannot prescribe supplements or medications. If I feel that your needs are beyond my scope, I will gladly refer you to a medical professional that can address your needs. I may suggest yoga-inspired stretches and self-massage techniques or collaborate with you on a massage-based treatment plan.
Scope of Practice
I am prepared and happy to work with people under 18! I have many years of working with children as a nanny and teacher before my life as a massage therapist. If the child is younger than 18, I will ask for a signature from the parent or guardian OR ask that they sit in on the treatment.
Working with Minors
As previously stated, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist. I do not date clients, and I am not a sex worker. Discussion of intimate topics is never appropriate in a bodywork setting, and any interactions or behavior that makes me feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated. Suggestive comments, sexual innuendos, or inappropriate touching will result in the termination of the massage session, and the client will not be allowed to return for further massages. I will expect the full fee even if the session ends early. Any client who appears under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not receive bodywork.
